Why Life Groups?
Here at Lighthouse, Life Groups are one of our
primary pathways for connection and spiritual growth.
Instead of having many different ministries going on all the time, we’ve chosen to focus a lot of our energy on Life Groups.
They are intentional discipleship communities within the larger church designed with the purpose of authentic relationships, discipleship, caring for each other, and
caring for the community. They are ideally made up of 5 to 20 people growing in Christ and doing life together.
1) We were made for community
Genesis 2:18 “The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone."“
2) God calls us to community
Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
3) The church was built on community
Acts 2:42-47 “And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
